Two of the biggest questions now a days are; "is 5linx a scam" or "is Multi-Layer Marketing (MLM) a pyramid scheme?" The answer is, No and maybe. Two things that you want to realize is that; MLM is the way most companies that are trying to test out expansion, and most businessmen trying to start their company off, practice in Europe. My friend introduced me into this business model While I spent some time with his company in Stuttgart, Germany during a Fastener & Fixings fair. Most companies want their goods advertised as much as possible, but are always trying to keep expenses low, therefore, acquiring as many Independent Marketing Representatives (IMRs) as possible. They do not have to worry about more salaries to manage, or even worry about health care, benefits and pensions, just competitive commission rates.
So, back to the original set of questions. 5linx is not a scam, it is just like any business venture anyone sets on, you have to market your company's products and get as many possible customers like normal, the only thing is that people will be questioning the reliability of the company at first. Others will ask why your company can offer the same service from a leading provider at a discounted price, the answer is simple, for the same reason they have deals in the first place, more sales! Think of "Black Friday," regardless of what the item is, some store is going to have it on sale. The purpose is psychological marketing. People are always on the hunt for deals, but deals that are conveniently reachable. For example, upon arrival at an airport, you are very hungry, knowing that airport food is way overpriced, you still decide to eat. Now, knowing that if you would wait about 15-20 minutes and can find the same products for a lot less, ask yourself why you chose to eat there instead of wait it out a bit. Convenience!
With most of the companies linked to 5linx, the main purpose they offer their services cheaper is to generate more revenue by offering deals to those that didn't want to pay top price, and to have more individuals advertising their services through the IMR program. In Europe, this is not a new concept, only in middle class and lower America. We are taught to just be hard working and always committed, but that reduces the time we have for personal growth, education, quality time with friends and family and doing the things we want to do. In Europe, most of the people don't work half as hard as Americans, yet they live happier lives, live longer and always seem to have money for purchasing a house or two, owning a business of their own and traveling constantly, and let me tell you, I have seen it first hand while spending the past seven years overseas living in 5 different countries learning the ways of other cultures and life styles.
With 5linx, or any other IMR partnership, such as the affiliates program you see a lot, the AVON reps, Tupperware reps, and also the franchise businesses, like; Subway, Snap-on tools, etc. You pay your franchise fee, and from there, it is all up to you and the amount of effort you desire to put into it. Sure it will be a pain in the 'gluteus maximus' but anything you do in the beginning is the same way. Upon starting his own hardware retail company, my friend had a hard time getting sales, this is not an automatic thing. He had to use his old contacts, visit the Fastener Fairs, and constantly network with people. Now, after two years, he has partnerships with companies in several countries, and he just started the company because his boss wanted to reduce his pay, regardless of his wife being 8 months pregnant.
The opportunity is there, you just have to be willing to take it. What you do in life, in any regards, will only be as good in comparison to how much you put into it.
I truly believe this opportunity is a good thing, the services and linked companies are already established in their areas and fields, and the more this company grows, the more services will want in. Like anything in life, if a window of opportunity open, it is best to take it and look back at the attempt than regret not trying. You can always stop doing it, there is not contract to how long you have to do it. People will complain about the start-up fee, but most franchises require $20K + in start-up fees, not to mention the uniform, inventory and location rental charges, which in some cases can be up to $300K, whereas commissions on sold services, you don't need an inventory, just the sign up sheet or a computer with Internet.

I know there are skeptics out there and those who desire a chance to show they can make something for themselves. Just think, most people thought the Earth was flat, America would never be a free and prosperous country, and that bottled water would never sell, but there were always people willing to prove them wrong and here we are, paying to drink a free resource, in a free country on a round Earth.
